Reading Scripture, Hearing God

MIQRA CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN BIBLICAL STUDIES

The Certificate Program in Biblical Studies is designed to serve the Church through training in those competencies and virtues that become reading, interpreting, and proclaiming the two Testaments of Christian Scripture with reverence and responsibility.

The more specific aim of the program is to consolidate into a structured, comprehensive, 48-credit hour curriculum a progression of courses, seminars, and internships that focus on the development and enhancement of habits and practices that make God’s people better at kingdom life and ministry through serious and transforming engagement with the Scriptures.

For students pursuing university or seminary degrees, a further outcome is to advance their program standing by means of courses that are transferable/creditable.

The certificate program is designed to be completed in three years, not to exceed seven. Students may enter at any semester start, although prerequisites may apply in some situations.

Non-certificate students may select courses of special interest, with no intention of completing the program.
